OUR MEMBERS UNFILTERED

Thank you for supporting our mission by drinking Clubhouse Coffee, we hope you're enjoying it as much as we do.

Our interview series is made available by the volunteer-members in our Media Lab.  Your support makes it possible for our members to work on their mental health recovery and goals.

Each month, we'll bring you an unfiltered interview with another one of our members.  At the Clubhouse, we're like family--and we're excited to welcome you into it!

This month's story highlights an intelligent, sharp and charismatic fella that we know as Robert and here's what he is up to...

Gilbert B.

MEMBER SINCE: August 2016
PRIMARILY VOLUNTEERS IN: MEDIA LAB

In the beginning of his journey, Robert wasn't sure if the Clubhouse was a good fit. As time went on, he learned he liked making a good cup of coffee in the snack-bar and something positive began brewing within him.

While Robert mainly volunteers in the Member Services team, much like you and I, he enjoys a well rounded work experience.  You can typically find Robert participating in daily tasks such as data entry, working with databases  and training and guiding new members beginning their journey.  Robert also enjoys opportunities to collaborate with other clubhouse members and achieves forward moving change by participating in many planning discussions.

“The clubhouse gave me more of a purpose. I can see what I can do without anyone judging me...it's something I can count as a job as I'm building up a resume for another job that I want"
